Comparing territories without punishing the hardest routes
Practical ways to normalise visit volume and travel time so scorecards reflect effort, not just easy denseness.
Dense soi clusters finish more visits per hour than river-adjacent routes with long drives between gates. A scorecard that ranks raw completion alone will punish the hardest territories and reward the easiest ones.
Normalise by planned window, not by calendar day alone. Show travel share next to completion so a lower visit count with high travel reads as expected, not failure. When two territories share a crew, split credit by the route sheet, not by who shouted loudest in the stand-up.
Fair comparisons reduce defensive briefing talk. They also make client SLA meetings calmer: you can point to context instead of apologising for geography.
